[dt. »Versatzarbeitsspeicher«], Organisationsprinzip des Arbeitsspeichers, bei dem zwei logisch aufeinander folgende Datenwörter (Bytes) nicht unmittelbar nacheinander, sondern versetzt in einem RAM-Bereich (RAM) gespeichert werden, etwa in verschiedenen Speicherbänken. Dadurch sind mehrere Datenwortzugriffe in einem Speicherzyklus möglich, was eine besonders schnelle Verarbeitung ermöglicht.
